So what’s this low-FODMAP business?
The low-FODMAP diet is a diet developed by dietitians at Monash University to manage Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). It minimises intake of a group of carbohydrates called FODMAPs to reduce nasty gastrointestinal symptoms.
The diet is complex, and should only be attempted at the recommendation of medical professionals, after other more serious illnesses such as Coeliac disease have been investigated. You should get help from a dietitian to follow the diet, particularly during the elimination phase.
